The project

The problem

Large mines need firm power around the clock. Wind alone cannot provide it, and the grid cannot yet carry the shortfall. Pairing generation with storage — and wrapping both in a bankable corporate offtake — is what turns a renewable resource into a supply a mine can actually run on.

Where it sits

The project follows directly from the Baganuur storage precedent: once batteries were proven and financed in Mongolia, the same logic could be applied behind an industrial fence at a far larger scale.
